An alternative to warehouses – year-round tent halls

An alternative to warehouses – year-round tent halls. The stable structure and specially designed membrane make the tent halls suitable for use all year round, regardless of the weather conditions. It is a great solution, above all, for those investors who prefer optimal and flexible in terms of finances solutions that can be an alternative to expensive stationary halls. Savings when comparing these two technologies can be counted even in tens of thousands of zlotys.

Applications of tent halls

The first important feature of all-year-round tent halls is the fact that they can perform all functions – be it a warehouse, production site or a sports and entertainment hall. Recently, the roofing of sports facilities of various types, such as sports fields, tennis courts, ice rinks, riding arenas and the like, has been extremely popular. Such an increase in their functionality allows you to use them regardless of the season. Thanks to the use of structures such as tent halls it is possible to use such facilities all year round thanks to the innovative technologies that they use. The roofs of the halls are shaped so that they do not fall on them and the snow slides automatically – the materials used enable the absorption of snow loads according to the standard. In addition, most of the roofs on the market meet the stringent requirements of PN-EN 13782, with the use of a specially profiled, round roof.

Tent halls unlike stationary buildings, where you have to adapt to the existing technical conditions, they can be selected depending on their purpose. They can provide much better acoustic conditions when organizing events with the use of a special structure. These halls can also be successfully used as warehouses for companies that need more warehouse space seasonally or all year round, and they cannot afford to add an additional warehouse, or it would simply be a potential waste of money. Properly installed heating and air conditioning make it possible to create even better conditions in such a hall than those known from stationary buildings. In addition, you can easily choose the size and optimal design depending on the company’s needs, which is not so obvious in the case of even the expansive construction of traditional halls.

Halls that meet restrictive conditions

Large overloads related to snowfall are not the only condition that must be met by all-year-round tent halls. They should be additionally characterized by an appropriate design that will be able to withstand various stresses. For this reason, the roof coating of all-year halls must necessarily be stretched in two directions – in width and length. From a general safety point of view, mechanical stretching is the best solution, although stretching by air blown between two shell layers is also commonly used (although this is a slightly less secure system in the event of a balloon being punctured or no electrical power to the device forcing air into the sandwich roof).

A suitable roof for an all-year-round hall should be stretched in two directions with a suitable roof angle, which allows the roof to self-clear from snow. As a result, it also boils down to the possibility of avoiding the accumulation of snow in the depressions in the coating (ie no so-called “snow bags” are formed). In fact, it looks like the snow is sliding down the slippery surface of the material under its weight. Many years of experience of the companies have resulted in the observation that the roofs of a year-round hall should have a 25% slope.

Important aspects of the year-round use of tent halls

An element that definitely favors the year-round use of the halls are heating devices specially designed for this purpose, which are responsible not only for the proper temperature inside, but also allow for the removal of snow overhangs in case of emergency. Tent halls after a slight heating of the air inside, they will detach the snow from the tarpaulin of their roof and slide it outside the hall. It is obvious that snow sliding off the roof must not encounter any obstacles on the way.

The safety of the users of tent halls is an extremely important issue. For this reason, the solutions that we find on global markets are adapted to the most extreme places, where winters are usually harsher than in Poland. Such a state of affairs means that the hall, manufactured with the Canadian or Russian climate in mind, will successfully work in our country. Only halls properly adapted for winter use are able to cope with the difficult challenges in our climatic conditions and effectively protect guests and property from weather anomalies. HoweverTent halls are definitely interesting and worth considering structures that, for a much lower price, will provide us with similar functionality as traditional buildings.
